Pivot serves youth ages 12-24 who are experiencing some kind of homelessness. We provide support and a safe place through our 3 shelters:
When youth between the ages of 12 and 17 need a safe and secure temporary place to live, our Family Junction shelter provides that space.
Whether in DHS custody, living without parental support or having run away from home, youth who stay with us receive clean beds, nutritious meals, counseling, emotional support, the ability to attend school, tutoring, recreational and social activities.
The Community Intervention Center (CIC) offers assistance to youth brought to us by law enforcement and connect them with needed services like food, clothing, housing, medical, counseling, or mentoring. The CIC helps them understand court proceedings. If they are assigned community service, we connect them to facilities that offer that option.
The Point is a drop-in center and emergency overnight shelter. At The Point, youth can find safety and rest, as well as shower and wash their clothes. Point youth have access to all the services that Pivot provides, including counseling services and access to our clothing, household and food pantries.
We also have a program called Supporting Kids in Independent living or SKIL. Young people living on their own without parental support are at great risk of being presented with several difficult obstacles that can include increased criminal activity, victimization, unsafe sexual practices, and untreated mental health issues. Pivot staff provide a comprehensive array of services ensuring young people have access to resources.
Additionally, We provide stable housing for transitional age youth who find themselves living on their own without parental supervision, through our Transitional Living Program (TLP) aka our Tiny Homes. The Tiny Homes were strategically placed on Pivot's campus, which has staff onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our affordable and stable housing caters to their unique and vulnerable needs with the support and healthy connections to adults. As well as access to services that will allow them to develop skills to become self-reliant adults with a plan to achieve long term success.
