Volunteer: Hospice Volunteer (multiple positions)

Our hospice volunteers play a vital role in bringing comfort, compassion, and connection to patients and families during life’s most meaningful moments. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to match different interests, skills, and comfort levels.

Volunteer roles may include:

-Providing companionship to patients through conversation, reading, music, or simply being present

-Offering respite support so caregivers can rest and recharge

-Assisting with office or administrative tasks

-Supporting bereavement programs through follow-up calls or mailings

-Helping with community outreach, events, or special projects

As a Hospice Companion Volunteer with Suncrest Hospice, you will offer presence, comfort, and emotional support to patients and families during an important time in their lives. This role is centered on human connection: simply being there, listening, and providing companionship.

Volunteers may spend time talking, listening to life stories, reading aloud, sharing music, watching a favorite show, or sitting quietly with a patient. Your presence helps reduce loneliness and brings reassurance to both patients and their loved ones.

No medical care is provided or expected in this role. Volunteers are fully supported by the Suncrest Hospice team and receive orientation and training before being matched with a patient.

This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity, and schedules are flexible based on your availability.

Volunteer Requirements

Must be 18 years or older

Willing to complete a background check

TB blood test (provided and paid for by Suncrest Hospice)

Volunteer orientation and brief training

Two forms of ID and current auto insurance (if driving)
