Good jobs are hard to come by and low-income women are no exception. Finding gainful employment is a challenge for many women, even after completing job training or job readiness programs. First impressions are critically important.

Our mission at Suited for Success is to help women achieve self-sufficiency by providing professional clothing and career development services. Our services, available to clients at no charge, empower women to find and keep jobs that provide them with economic independence.

After being appropriately dressed, more than 95 percent of clients report feeling an increase in self-confidence and professionalism and more prepared for their job search.

Breaking the cycle A woman without a job cannot afford career clothing. And without career clothing, a woman is unlikely to get a job. Suited for Success helps our clients break this cycle by preparing them to present a professional and confident image during the interview and on the job. We provide women with a personal shopping experience with volunteers to assist them in selecting career clothing in our Suited store, such as gently worn business suits and accessories. We help women find professional attire that enables them to feel professional, self-confident and employable.

The cycle of poverty and unemployment that often repeats over several generations, is an even more important cycle to break. By helping women find and keep employment, we break the cycle of dependence on government assistance for themselves and their children. Our clients become positive examples of self-sufficiency for their children.
