Description

In recognition of the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance, RSVP of Central Oklahoma, Inc., will be hosting an event for crocheters and knitters in Oklahoma County to volunteer alongside others and create specific handmade items that support the work of local nonprofits. This special volunteer opportunity is a part of RSVP of Central Oklahoma’s KnitServe program, through which knitters and crocheters of all skill levels can meet and craft in community while supporting local causes, and which offers a chance to learn more about the many service opportunities available through RSVP of Central Oklahoma and AmeriCorps.

RSVP of Central Oklahoma, Inc.’s 9/11 Day of Service event will be held from 10:00 am to noon on Wednesday, September 11, in the Will Rogers Gardens Main Exhibition Building. Anyone interested in attending may register by visiting https://rsvpokc.org/knitserve or emailing hello@rsvpokc.org before Sept. 10.

Participants can bring their own tools and supplies such as yarn, crochet hooks, knitting and stitch markers, or thanks to a grant from St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Midwest City, can receive supplies to get started if indicated during registration. We encourage you to come, craft, learn, and serve with us on this special day.
