Description

About Taylor Ridge Apartments:

Taylor Ridge Apartments is one of Mental Health Association Oklahoma’s affordable housing communities in Oklahoma City, providing 54 units of safe, stable housing for individuals and families. For many of our residents, having a place to call home represents the first step toward healing, stability, and independence.

Why a Little Library?

A Little Library would extend that sense of hope and connection by giving residents a shared space to access books and educational resources.

A neighborhood library fosters:

  • Community connection: A gathering place that encourages neighbors to engage with one another.
  • Literacy and learning: Easy access to books for children, adults, and families.
  • Well-being and growth: Reading supports mental wellness and provides positive outlets for residents.

The Little Library would be a visible sign of community care bridge between stability in housing and opportunities for enrichment, learning, and belonging.

Project Details:

  • What’s Needed: Purchase and installation of one outdoor Little Library, stocked with initial books.
  • Location: Taylor Ridge Apartments, Oklahoma City | 4759 NW 36th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73122
  • Impact: Creates a shared resource for residents, strengthens community bonds, and promotes literacy and wellness.

How You Can Help: We are seeking an organization to sponsor and complete this project during the United Way of Central Oklahoma’s Day of Caring. Your support would leave a lasting mark on a community that has overcome great challenges and is continuing to grow stronger together.
