Walk for Wishes is a nationwide Make-A-Wish® fundraiser that celebrates the more than 500,000 wishes that have already been granted, while raising funds for future wishes. It's a family-friendly event powered by wish families, volunteers, companies, donors and friends. This year we’ll be celebrating together on April 9 at Scissortail Park in downtown Oklahoma City.
Here are our needs for the day:
Registration – Participants who have registered will be organized alphabetically for check-in. You will provide them with information for the day and a card to redeem their incentives if they have earned any. They will retrieve incentive prizes at a separate table.

Wish Family Registration – This area will be exclusively for wish families and alumni to check in. They will receive a button or cape signifying that they are wish families. Volunteers will greet families and distribute items as appropriate.

Wish Tent – This area includes our Wish Wall where all of the Wish Community can make their mark! We will have a large canvas where anyone can add a star to show their support for wishes. There is a different color for anyone in the community, including wish families, donors, volunteers, etc. Volunteers will direct participants on how to engage with the Wish Wall. We’ll also be specifically engaging with our wish families here, and would like volunteers to welcome and direct them.

Bounce House – Volunteers will ensure safety by allowing only the recommended number of children to enter at one time, as well as asking participants to remove their shoes before entering.

Poster Station – Volunteers will assist participants in creating posters by organizing the crafting area and distributing materials like poster board, markers and paints.

Nick Evers Meet-and-Greet – OU quarterback Nick Evers will be at the walk to interact with children and fans at a football throwing station. Volunteers will direct the crowd and retrieve footballs that are thrown to give to the next participant.

Raffle – Volunteers will sell raffle tickets and direct purchasers on where to place them. One volunteer will be asked to use their phone to collect donations through Square, and the other will accept cash donations. Raffle items include Great Wolf Lodge passes, OSU football tickets and an OKC Dodgers basket + tickets.

Hospitality – Volunteers will greet participants in the hospitality tent and distribute water, coffee and donuts. Gloves will be provided.

Parking – Volunteers will direct participants to parking area, then ensure safe crossing to enter the park. Orange safety vests will be provided.

Incentives Table – Volunteers will distribute appropriate incentive prizes to participants. Participants are handed a card at registration that indicates what incentives they will receive and will hand it to volunteers at this station.

Volunteers will arrive at 8 a.m. and should be finished by 12:30 p.m. I recommend dressing according to the weather with comfortable shoes and either jeans or appropriate shorts. White or blue tops are preferred, and you are of course welcome to wear a Make-A-Wish T-shirt if you have one.
